What is DSV?
Dubble Sided Vinyl, an independant record label, was founded in 2002 by Dave Dub, a Toronto-based DJ/producer. In the years prior, he had successful releases and remixes on various local record labels, and eventually decided to start his own imprint. DSV was a founding member of the 2Wars & A Revolution Record Group, which would eventually put Toronto centre-stage on the worldwide breaks scene. Other member labels Pure Phunk, Promo Records, WOMP! and 20Hz all set a new standard of quality for Canadian breaks.
In the process, they helped expose various talented Canadian artists to the world, including Myagi, Influenza, The Phat Conductor, Robb G and Dave Dub.
But with the sudden demise of the 2Wars Label Group in 2004, Dubble Sided Vinyl ceased operating. After years of touring as a DJ and working in the studio, Dave Dub finally decided to resurrect DSV, having found high-quality mastering and manufacturing facilities in the UK and new distribution. DSV is poised to make another splash with Dave Dub's signature dub-infused, party-pleasing sound coupled with a top-drawer roster of remixes from some of today's hottest producers. New DSV Release > Set for a late November release, Canadian breaks uber- talent Myagi heats things up with a mix that's already getting praise worldwide. More details will come soon!
